Swedish/Relaxation massage:  Swedish massage, the most common type of massage found in the United States, is a system of long strokes, kneading, friction, percussion and vibration that can range from very light to very deep. Oils, lotions or creams are used to reduce the amount of friction on the skin. Additionally, stretching and/or strengthening exercises may be incorporated into the massage to help the client achieve goals such as increased flexibility, alleviating muscle imbalances and decreasing pain. This type of massage stimulates circulation and can be very relaxing or very energizing.

Therapeutic/Deep Tissue massage: Therapeutic massage combines Swedish and Deep tissue techniques delivering the benefits of both massages to the changing needs of each location of the body. The therapist starts with lighter pressure to warm up the superficial muscle layers and progresses to the deepest level of pressure, working within the client tolerance levels. Therapeutic massage helps alleviate chronic muscle pain and muscle adhesions (knots) using slow strokes, direct pressure, or friction directed across the grain of the muscles. Deep Tissue Work is applied with greater pressure and to deeper layers of muscle than Swedish massage.

Pregnancy massage: A Pre-Natal Massage is for women who are currently pregnant, and is customized specifically to the pregnancy. This therapeutic massage is designed to support the pregnant woman by addressing the dynamic changes that occur with pregnancy and safely relieving common discomforts experienced during and after pregnancy. Not only does this massage help mom feel better but also helps soothe and calm baby during pregnancy. A Post-Natal Massage happens about 4-12 weeks after baby’s birth and it helps soothe the muscles that have been stretched during pregnancy, especially at the joints.

Sports massage: Utilizing Swedish massage techniques, Sports massage is tailored to an athlete and their respective sport. Sports massage is designed to help an athlete warm up or cool down before or after an event and aid in the body’s regenerative capacities following a rigorous workout or competition. This massage is used by both amateur and professional athletes to help reduce the chance of injury by identifying and eliminating conditions in the muscles that are at potential risk of injury. Sports massage also relieves muscular cramps and tension, reduces swelling, alleviates muscle fatigue, and flushes toxins out of the body to decrease muscle soreness and increase recuperation.

Hot Stone: Heated basalt stones are placed on different parts of the body and used in the massage itself. The heat of the stones helps muscles relax, increases blood flow and calms the body to a deep relaxation. Often combined with aromatherapy, the stones can be used for a very general, deeply relaxing massage or they can be used for deeper, more specific work to relieve muscle pain and spasm.                                                                                                                       Treatment time 90 minutes…$180

Back Masque: An excellent compliment to a massage of an hour or more. A back masque is a localized hot towel treatment using a natural agent of either clay, mud or algae. The masque assists in reaching a deeper level of superficial tissue relaxation through detoxification and nourishment. Although beneficial on its own, it is an awesome compliment to a massage.                                                                                              Treatment time 30-40 minutes…$60  Add on to a massage of 1 hour or more…$30

Aromatherapy Wrap: Aromatherapy wrap transforms the body by relieving tension and mental fatigue through detoxification and nourishment to the outer layers of the body. You are cocooned in a 100% cotton muslin sheet and heat retentive blankets for a retreat within. Herbal Wrap: Using 100% unbleached cotton muslin sheets soaked in the finest blend of herbs, we combine ancient Egyptian wrapping and Eastern herbal techniques for a detoxifying, medatative experience.  When wrapped in the heated herbed sheets the body’s core temperature is raised and impurities are released from one’s system.  The combination of being wrapped and laying quietly induces a state of relaxation for most people.                                                                Treatment time 35-45 minutes…$80

Reflexology: Foot reflexology is a form of bodywork based on the theory of zone therapy and involves working with the thumbs and, in some instances, fingers on reflex areas found on the feet. By massaging these reflex points, it is possible to treat different areas of the body since every part of the foot corresponds to a specific part of the body. Reflexology is a method used to address ill-health, but is also used to prevent illness and maintain good health.                                Treatment time 30 minutes…$50

This therapy helps alleviate a range of problems including, but not limited to: Migraines & tension headaches, chronic neck and back pain, and chronic fatigue.                                                                                                                                                                                                           Treatment time 1 hour…$95

Reiki:  Reiki is a gentle method of hands-on healing that taps into the energy referred to as ‘ki’ in Japan, ‘chi’ in China and ‘prana’ in India. Reiki is a technique that addresses both chronic and acute conditions, gently and powerfully promoting balance among all the body’s systems and the regenerative processes of the body and mind. The teachings say that universal energy flows, not from the practitioner but rather through the practitioner, to you. To receive Reiki, most people lie on a table fully clothed. Little or no pressure is applied and no oils are used. The practitioner will simply place his or her hands on or above your head, shoulders, back, chest, stomach and limbs. You will receive the amount of energy you need to bring your mind and body into balance. Though Reiki techniques appear simple, the effects can feel profound.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Treatment time 1 hour…$85
